You're invited to a sexy and embodied dance event here in Asheville! Some dear friends of mine are hosting this event next weekend that I know will be beautiful, embodied and powerful. I highly recommend it.

Join me in Toronto, Sept 25-27 - Celebrating the Body Erotic for All
I am so thrilled to be returning to visit my Toronto "family" next month, and to facilitate a Celebrating the Body Erotic workshop! If you are looking for radical transformation of your love life or in the realm of personal growth, this may be the experience for you. I love this work and this workshop. It's the experience that got me started on this whole journey I've been on for 14 years now!

A personal, spiritual update:
In the interest of transparency, I won't be at the dance event next weekend... I'll be in "tantric devotee" mode, in an ashram style retreat with some friends for a few days, something I have been looking forward to for over a month now.
Those of you who have been with me for a while, you may know that I really enjoy the devotional practice of chanting and praying for hours around a fire. For me, this is one of the most reliable sources of bliss. After I've been at it a while, the effect for me is like a psychedelic journey, but without the drugs. When I'm chanting, there are moments when I completely lose track of what time it is, what day it is, where I am, who I am or what I am about. I love this feeling so much - it feels so primal and archaic. I lose my identity and my mind, but I find something else, something that is more enduring and ineffable.
I am really grateful that over the past couple months I have renewed my love affair with this practice. It started with a big epiphany during a session with my Somatica coach, Veronica Puryear, that have led me to recommit to my "ashram" practices. I was processing some deep feelings that were coming up for me in my relationships with my two partners, and I noticed that I was really yearning for a sense of predictability, grounding and devotion to myself and my inner journey. It's so easy for me to get lost in the swirl of relating - I so love intimacy and its infinite teachings! Yet, my heart was wanting a break from the emotional rollercoaster. When Veronica prompted me to sit with my feelings, I found I was craving the sense of enduring devotion and predictable bliss that I experienced often during my days of founding and cheerleading the "Play Ashram" in the Red River Gorge.
The retreat we're creating next week is private, but if this kind of devotional container appeals to you - morning practice, silent breakfast, shared dinner, fire ceremony with chanting in Sanskrit before bed each night - please let me know (just email me back here). I'd love to have a list of people who might want to join me for subsequent ashram retreats like this. I'm hoping to host another one in September or October, which could be for a slightly larger group of people. In addition, my friend Diana McCall and I are planning to host an evening fire ceremony in Black Mountain on November 9th. And as always, I'll be hosting my annual winter solstice retreat in December - the highest holy day of the year for me!
Now accepting new clients - free discovery calls next week
