What is eco-eroticism?

I get asked this question a lot. Eco-eroticism is the divine play that happens when we allow ourselves to co-mingle our love of nature with erotic energy. And what that looks like will vary for each person, for each day, for each season, each natural place. Today I've got some fun picture for you from the Smoky Mountains. At a recent Body Electric workshop, a few of us had some playtime in the forest and here are some images to hopefully inspire your own sense of innocent yet sexy nature play.

And here's a contrasting example... a couple of days ago, I laid on the floor of my kitchen with my lover for about 20 minutes while we watched eight ants diligently work to dismantle the head, shell and legs of a dead june bug. This might not sound sexy to you, but bear with me... It was erotic for me because it invoked a lot of sensation in my body - so much curiosity and feeling as I watched them using their mouths as their most powerful tool: crawling over each other, pulling on the exoskeleton of the bug, dragging it across the floor, wrestling occasionally, working together as one organism. Plus I loved sharing this with him - marveling at all we were noticing, like one unified mind of observation and attention.

Eroticism is about finding pleasure and fascination in places you wouldn't otherwise look - like the bugs in your kitchen!
